Our billing policy is reviewed annually, and you will be informed of changes that may affect you at least four weeks prior to implementation.
Our billing policy reflects our desire to:
- provide our patients and staff with the highest quality of premises, equipment, service, convenience and care,
- reward patients for pursuing preventative and planned care, and
- provide equitable access to high quality primary care for all people regardless of income.
Our clinic privately bills for consultations, with exceptions for Pension cardholders and at the discretion of the doctor. Payment is on the day of consultation only, by cash, EFTPOS or credit card. A Medicare rebate will be directly deposited back into your account if you are registered for same day claiming.
All chronic disease management plans are bulk-billed, as well as a number of procedures.
Please inform us of your Workcover and TAC claim number. If you are seen prior to obtaining your claim number, you will be charged privately and reimbursed by Workcover or TAC upon processing of your claim.
See our fee menu for costs of care, and if you are experiencing financial hardship, please discuss this with our practice manager or with your doctor.
Cancellations or Non-Attendance
We understand that life happens and that sometimes you aren't able to make it to an appointment that you have booked. Please provide us with as much notice as possible if you are looking to cancel your appointment. Please note that there may be a fee if you do not give us more than two hours notice.
If you fail to attend an appointment without cancelling your appointment then there will be a $30 fee for Standard Appointments or a $50 fee for Long Consultations. No further appointments will be made until the fee is paid.
Procedure Pack Fee
In order for us to perform minor procedures at Temple Hills Medical Centre, we do charge a $50 procedure pack fee. This fee is for all the disposable instruments used for the procedure. Unfortunately these are things that are not covered by Medicare.
The fee is charged by the practice for the use of the instruments and is charged regardless of whether you are bulk-billed or not. Please discuss this with your Doctor or the practice manager if there are any issues.
Medical Report Fees
In order for a Doctor to prepare a medical report outside a consultation that is requested by an Insurance Company or Lawyer we do charge a standard fee of $165. Depending on the length of the report this may increase at the discretion of the Doctor.
Work related medical reports that are completed during a consultation will attract our standard appointment fees. Please note that depending on the nature of the report (particularly if it is work related) you may not qualify for a medicare rebate and will need to pay the full consultation fee. Please let us know if you have any questions about this.
